Gua Sha

Gua Shu is used for the treatment of muscle and joint pain, musculoskeletal disorders, inflammation, colds, and fevers. The technique involves using a handheld tool to apply pressure while scraping the skin surface, often leaving behind petechiae. In 2009, a Harvard medical study concluded that the therapeutic benefits of Gua Shu were the result of increased blood flow to the treatment area creating an antioxidative response.
